UK Bans Live Animal Exports
The government has finally passed the Animal Welfare (Livestock Exports) Act, which bans the export of farm animals from Great Britain for slaughter or fattening.
This bill finally breaks with the barbaric live export trade.
The animals suffer severe overcrowding, exhaustion, dehydration and extreme levels of stress.
Although EU trading rules prevent member states banning the live export of animals to other countries in the union, the bill was heralded as a benefit of Brexit when it was first raised by the Conservatives in 2017.

Like Cigarettes, Meat Advertising Banned
Amsterdam will become the first capital city to ban meat advertising in public spaces in an effort to promote more climate-friendly, plant-based diets.
The ban was approved by Amsterdam’s city council in November, with 27 out of 45 seats supporting the motion. The bill was co-initiated by two progressive opposition parties, the Party for the Animals and Green/Left.
Research from ProVeg International shows that Dutch consumers are clearly embracing the transition to plant-based eating. In the Netherlands, protein consumption is about 60 percent animal protein. Should this pattern persist, the gap with the guideline will remain large
